How To Explain NABONC To Some Else.
The National Association of Black Oncologists (NABONC) is a pioneering organization established in 2022, dedicated to addressing healthcare disparities and advancing cancer care for African American communities. NABONC focuses on improving access to care, promoting culturally sensitive health education, and supporting groundbreaking research that aligns with the unique needs of African American patients. We express this through three pillars: Access, Advocacy, and Appropriateness, and we conduct this through bold Activism.
Key Areas of Activism:
Research & Professional Mentorship/Fellowship
NABONC collaborates with healthcare professionals and community leaders to increase participation in clinical trials and develop evidence-based solutions to address cancer disparities within African American populations.
Care Navigation & Support
Leveraging our growing network of nurse [doctor] practitioners and healthcare providers, NABONC facilitates personalized care navigation across various American states, ensuring patients receive comprehensive support and guidance throughout their cancer journey. Meanwhile, we are developing our global application.
Culturally Sensitive Health Education
NABONC partners with other businesses, including community and faith-based organizations, to deliver health education programs tailored to African American audiences, emphasizing chronic disease management and prevention.
NABONC is committed to reshaping healthcare outcomes for African Americans and empowering communities to achieve better health by building trust, fostering collaboration, and advocating for equity in cancer care.
